The Clever Monkey

One day, two cats found a piece of bread and started fighting over it. Each claimed the whole bread for herself. Just then, a monkey came by and offered to settle the dispute. He broke the bread into two pieces, but they were not equal. To make them equal, he ate a portion from the bigger piece. Still uneven, he kept biting from each side. The cats watched helplessly as the monkey continued “adjusting” the pieces. Finally, he ate both parts and said, “Now it’s fair.” The cats realized their foolishness, but it was too late.

Exercise 9

Using the following points write a paragraph in about 100 words on how your locality looks like at dawn:

your place of stay-early morning sky-description of the nature around-sounds that are heard-reasons for enjoyment-conclusion

I live in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by trees and open spaces. At dawn, my locality looks peaceful and beautiful. The early morning sky glows softly with shades of pink and orange as the sun begins to rise. The cool breeze carries the sweet scent of flowers. Birds chirp cheerfully, and the cooing of doves adds to the calmness. Sometimes, I hear the distant sound of temple bells or a milkman’s cycle. The freshness of nature and the quiet surroundings make dawn the best time of day. It fills me with peace and energy to start the day happily.
